Program Description

Teaching Happiness teaches you new skills for promoting positive student behaviour and learning. It introduces research on the core areas of positive psychology, such as happiness, learned optimism, motivation, signature strengths, flow and mindfulness and explores evidence-based practices which promote student well-being, resulting in improved behaviour and learning in the classroom and beyond.

This online program provides a review of existing tried and tested techniques for introducing positive psychology into the classroom. It details how to use practices such as mindfulness to improve concentration and reduce stress and disruptive behaviour. The central themes of positive psychology including hope, creativity and wisdom are explored in terms of their practical application to teaching and to improving well-being and resilience. The program is designed for teachers, youth workers and those working with learners in many different contexts.
